Here is a take from another COLD CASE.. 1979
Jurors view crime scene photos from 1979 slaying
Though officers didn't know about DNA at the time, Byrd said they could collect fluids for further testing and also knew something like fingernail clippings could later give them insights into the homicide.Link here

40 years ago......
Hello, I'm Sharron Prior, I was
16 years old
This is how my day Started 40 years
ago..
Easter weekend, Saturday, March 29th, 1975I got up that morning had breakfast, washed, dressed and made my bed. Mom went shopping to get the extras she needed for the Easter Dinner including chocolate eggs and goodies. Jo-Jo my brother who is 11 years old and Steven (my foster brother) who is 4 years old still love to search for Easter eggs. My twin sisters thought they were a little too old to search for eggs....
This is how it ended 4 days later...
I was only 16..

face recognition software
This is something great! Calgary police have a new tool to help solve crimes. I truly hope that the rest of the Canadian provinces will soon be using this as well!

Beautiful Angel
From the very first moment you were laid in my
arms
I wanted to protect you from all harms
You were so small and precious, the perfect gift from above
And in an instant I fell in love
I wanted and would have given you the moon
But you were taken from me way too soon
Your shining smile I would love to see
If only I could have you here with me
Imagine if I was given one moment,
just a single slice of my past.
I could hold it close forever,
and that moment would always last.
I'd put the moment in a safe,
within my hearts abode.
I could open it when I wanted,
and only I would know the code

“It’s not our job, the police at the end of the day have to take this information,” Arntfield said. “We put the ball on the tee, and someone has to stand up and take a swing.”
But while some police departments recognize the important work that can be done by allowing outside experts to tackle these cold cases, Arntfield notes there still exist those who are unwilling let them in.
“There are those (police) services . . . who still cling to the old school edifice that this is their sandbox, and at the expense of these families who want answers they’re prepared to be very territorial,” he said.

Happy Birthday Sharron..we Love you and miss you
Just like a beautiful long stemmed rose
Her precious memory grows and grows
Touching the hearts of all of those she loves
And like the fragrance of that same rose
Her love so sweet still flows and flows
Filling our lives with a warmth
That shows she’s there
So, like the forever blooming rose
The beauty she shared eternally glows
For deep in our hearts
Each of us knows...
She lives.....
Love you Mom, Moreen ,Doreen, Joe

Hope!
The passage of time doesn’t matter to Yvonne. The pain is fresh.
She needs to know what happened to her daughter, the girl who dreamed of
being a veterinarian one day.
In one of Yvonne’s terrible dreams, their house is on fire. She runs inside, calling out for Sharron. Where's Sharron? Where's Sharron? The firemen shake their heads. They show her a handful of ashes.
This is Sharron.
“We want to know the truth,” Yvonne says. “We have to know the truth.”
