Easter

Although Easter weekend falls on a different date this year 2008, (in 1975 it was the 29th of March) it is still
strong in our memories and we are still pushing foward.

A BUDDING FLOWER FROM THE FAMILY TREE,
IS NO LONGER WITH US-----FOR US TO SEE.
WE LOOK AT THE PHOTO'S OF TIME GONE BY,
WE SMILE ON THE OUTSIDE
BUT INSIDE WE CRY.

"Lifers’ group inc” ??????

Their agenda is not only to get a “get out of jail free card”, but they support a concept called “restorative justice”, which they say “brings offenders and their victims together to make them whole.” Oh, how touching! That is such a compassionate intellectual idea! Barf, I doubt any of the victims families want to hold hands with these murderers and dance around a tree and sing “Kumbaya.”

March

In 1975 there were no cars, trucks, no buildings..lots of trees and field...alone, deserted, cold, hurt, praying

There are times when the memory is blank-too many things in the head, too many names-wanting to forget!

the whole year-every single day-can't forget-won't forget- someone knows something.

march-is supposed to be a wonderful month-Ha! just not so. I hate march, I hate spring,I hate Easter. It's a lonely month.

Open your eyes, Try to remember 1975 something small..someone in Point St Charles neighbourhood, maybe someone visiting. Easter weekend...maybe you over heard someone talk, Did someone move away almost immediatly after Sharron's body was found.
Maybe a car was seen..someone acting nervous,suspicious.

Canada should follow this story

DNA tests flush out old crimes

Imates here in Canada should be DNA tested!

A RAPIST, a carjacker and a serial burglar are among hundreds of criminals facing more time in prison after NSW Police secured 300 cold-case convictions in a year through DNA testing.
Police Minister David Campbell said more than 2400 inmates were DNA tested in 2006-07, allowing investigators to compare those samples with evidence collected at the scenes of unsolved crimes.
He said more than 10,000 samples had been collected in the testing regime, which began in 2001 and was securing good results for victims of crime and their families.
"These inmates will be spending more time in jail than they thought," Mr Campbell said. "This program is making criminals pay, and providing justice for victims."
The minister said the database to which criminals' DNA was compared contained samples from crime scenes dating back to the early 1990s. The DNA testing had led to 300 new convictions and more would follow, he said.
Among the inmates convicted of previously unsolved crimes are:
■ A 36-year-old who was serving four months for assault received another eight years after his DNA identified him as the man who abducted and sexually assaulted a 40-year-old woman in a Lewisham park in 1997.
■ A 34-year-old serving three years for armed robbery received another seven years after his DNA matched samples left after a man was forced from his car, stabbed and robbed by a carjacker in inner Sydney in 2003.
■ A 36-year-old on six months periodic detention for breaking and entering had his DNA tested in 2006 after police set up a strike force to investigate 58 burglaries in Sydney between 2003 and 2006. His sample came up positive at all 58 crime scenes.
Mr Campbell said the cold-case convictions should remind "criminals that they can't relax … the NSW Police Force will track you down, and you will be caught".

Some more Good news..

This is a story that has grabbed our attention

"Throughout the ordeal, I needed to stay with my family. It was an enormous stress. I needed to follow the trial. I wanted closure," Ms. Janelle-Gervais said.

Mr. Boisvenu won a major victory yesterday when the Quebec government tabled a bill that requires employers to grant a leave of absence of up to two years to employees whose child or spouse is slain. Employees or their children who suffer serious bodily injury as a result of a crime will also have the right to a two-year leave of absence.

Story behind the Story

While reading up on some cases on the internet I came across this one.

No secret files -- just taking dozens of calls from victim's families; following up any lead; and sometimes sitting quietly with a grieving mom. Cold cases get solved because officers still care.

It is Her!

It is Her!

by: Doreen Linda Prior

She helps me to remember
and begs me to forget
she's the star in the sky
that winks me goodnight

It's time to rest
and lets me not fear
she whispers I Love You
I feel her so near

she touches my shoulder
I know she is saying
"One Day at a Time"
continue praying

just follow your heart
and continue to sing
live life to the fullest
And accept what it brings

Take time to sit back
and enjoy the sun
re-group..and think
Gods will will be done

Conscience...

I think we all have a little voice inside us that will guide us. It may be God, I don't know. But I think that if we shut out all the noise and clutter from our lives and listen to that voice, it will tell us the right thing to do.
